Oven Repair — Book a Visit Today

We fix ovens that won't heat, won't light, or won't hold a temperature, and we work on all major brands as an independent shop. Usually it's a bake element that burned through, an igniter too weak to open the gas valve, a temperature sensor that has drifted, or a control board that stopped listening to the touchpad. Hinges sag and seals flatten, heat leaks out, and everything bakes uneven. When we come out we run the oven, read the sensor, check the igniter's glow and its current draw, and look at the wiring behind the back panel before anybody says a word about parts. Then you hear what's wrong in plain language and you decide from there. We keep swing-shift hours. Call us and tell us what it's doing.

Oven Repair — residential oven being serviced

The oven symptoms we hear most

  • "It preheats forever and never beeps." Weak bake element, or a temperature sensor reading high
  • "Cookies burn on the bottom, raw on top." Failed element, a bad fan in convection models, or a sagging door seal
  • "I smell gas but nothing lights." Igniter isn't drawing enough current to open the safety valve. Stop and call
  • "Touchpad lights up, buttons do nothing." Membrane switch failure, or a control board that's lost its inputs
  • "Door won't shut flush anymore." Stretched hinges, a worn gasket, or a warped inner panel letting heat out

Safe things to check first

Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.

  • 1Make sure the oven isn't sitting on a timed or delay-bake setting, since a stray program will keep it from firing when you ask it to.
  • 2Check the house breaker for the range. An electric oven can lose one leg of power and still light the clock.
  • 3Run a finger around the whole door gasket and feel for gaps, tears, or flattened spots.
  • 4Put an oven thermometer on the center rack, run 350 for twenty minutes, and see how far off it lands.

Art B.Stockton, CA

“Washer error code meant nothing to me. He knew it on sight and had it cleared in under an hour.”

June C.Reno, NV

“Polite on the phone, polite at the door, and the laundry room was cleaner when he left than when he came.”

Oven Repair — quick answers

My oven runs hot. Is that a sensor or a board?

Most often the temperature sensor. It's a probe inside the cavity, and it drifts as it ages, so the control keeps heating past your setpoint. We measure its resistance cold and again hot. If it reads correctly, then we move on to the control board.

The igniter glows but the gas never lights. Why?

Glowing isn't enough. That igniter has to pull a specific amount of current before the safety valve will open. A weak one still glows orange while the valve stays shut. So we test the draw, not the color.

Can I keep using the oven with a broken door seal?

You can, but expect uneven results and a hotter kitchen. Heat escaping makes the oven cycle constantly, and the top and bottom bake differently. A flattened gasket is a quick fix compared to chasing temperature complaints that move around on you.

What does the self-clean cycle do to an oven?

It runs extremely hot, and that heat is hard on thermal fuses, door latches, and control boards. Plenty of ovens die right after a self-clean. If yours went dark after one, mention that when you call us.

Do you work on both gas and electric ovens?

Yes. Gas ranges, electric ranges, wall ovens, double ovens. Gas work centers on igniters, valves, and safety devices, while electric work leans toward elements, relays, and wiring. Tell us which you have so we bring the right parts.

How long does a typical oven repair take?

Many visits wrap up the same trip once we diagnose it. Elements, igniters, and sensors are common parts we carry. A control board or a discontinued panel may need ordering, and we'll tell you that while we're standing there instead of after.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us what it's doing

Ring us or fill in the form, and describe the noise, the smell, the error code and the brand. Small details help us load the right parts before we ever knock on your door.

  2. Step 2

    We come look

Our tech tests the machine instead of guessing. You hear what failed and why, in plain words. Then you decide whether repairing it makes sense or replacing it makes more sense.

  3. Step 3

    Repair and retest

Approved work gets done, often on the same visit. We run a full cycle before packing up, wipe down the area, then show you what changed so nothing surprises you next week.

Why homeowners call us

  • We know hard waterValley water leaves scale on everything, and we see it in clogged dishwasher jets and crusted washer valves. Water heaters groan, too. We check for mineral buildup out of habit, because around here it's usually part of the story.
  • Swing-shift friendlyNot everybody is home at ten in the morning. We schedule around night shifts and split shifts, and around long commutes. Tell us the window that actually works for your household and we'll aim for it.
  • Independent, not steeredNobody pays us to push a brand. We service all major makes as an independent shop, so our advice on repair versus replace comes from what we saw inside your machine.
  • Straight talk on old unitsSome appliances aren't worth another part. We'll say so. If a repair is likely to buy you real time, we'll say that too, and let you pick from there.
  • All major brands, gas & electricFrom Whirlpool and GE to Samsung, LG, Bosch and KitchenAid, serviced independently.
  • Straight answersIf it isn't worth repairing, we'll say so, often right on the phone.
